Guinea Pig: Devil's Experiment

Guinea Pig: Devil's Experiment

What the heck did I just watch??? I'll tell you. I watched some BULL. That's what I just watched. This short film will piss you off...until the end.

A gang of boys kidnap a young girl and subject her to several torturous experiments over the course of several days before they finally kill her.

You can tell this film is fake. It looks like it was filmed in a field, using a phone. That's how bad the picture is. During the first torture scene the girl doesn't really show much emotion.

The torture scenes are played out entirely and unnecessarily too long. I'm all for gruesome and disturbing, but I don't want to sit and linger on a scene for longer than a few seconds. Any much longer than that and it becomes unbearable.

The thing that gets to you about this film is the thought about what's being done more than what's actually being done. The fakeness and low quality of this film makes it impossible for you to feel sorry for the victim. The torture scenes, although very heavy, are very poorly acted out. The acting is very poorly done.  You kind of have to rely on your own imagination to make this film even attempt at being believable.

There are one-and-a-half scenes that gives this film a little push. The rest of the film is pie foolery.

Check it out on YouTube.

Missunderstanding? Or Fear of the Unknown?

This post is dedicated to the defense of the film industry, primarily the horror industry. There tend to be a lot of fuss over certain films in the horror genre. When I read movie reviews on different movies, I notice a lot of negative comments and reviews.

Sure, there are a lot of films out there that make you feel sick to your stomach. Films that are looked upon as sick, disturbing, perverted, insane. Directors that are frowned upon for directing these movies.

**Image from "Martyrs".

I have come to learn that, no matter how sick a movie may be, there is almost always some sort of relevance and importance, not just to the world of film, but to life in general.

Movie bad guys that abduct, rape, torture, and murder their victims hold a certain relevance and importance in life. Thes films may be fiction, but they are also nonfiction and true.

**Image from "Men Behind the Sun"

Almost every time we turn on the news or read news stories, we are introduced to an antagonist and his/her victims of some perverted crime: rape, abduction, torture, murder, depravity, sexploitation.

Every time we turn on a movie that exhibits any of these crimes, we cringe at the sight, and the thoughts that come to our minds; "This some sick shit, and the director needs to be shot!" "This movie is crap, and so is the person who wrote it!"

**Image from "Human Centipede"

However, while we're so busy negatively criticising a film or a director, we forget to sit back and think about the meaning, purpose, relevance, and importance of the film. Films are supposed to provide entertainment. This is true. On the same token, films can be a moral to a story, a history lesson, or a life lesson. If one watches and listens with an open mind, one should be able to see the relevance; hear the message.

The directors may take a very cruel and harsh approach to make a message and an impact, but, nevertheless, the message is there. One just has to put away all foolish thoughts and views, and look deep within the film; beyond the film.

**Image from "A Serbian Film"

Why is it that so many foreign films depict depravity, debauchery, torture to the highest level? American films has some of this as well, but you mostly see this stuff in foreign films; European films, Japanese/Asian films, German films.

A lot of people negatively criticize these films and directors, but not many take the time to dig deeper and reveal the true meaning of them. When you do, your point-of-view may just change. When you learn that this is the kind of stuff that happens in foreign countries; that people are just this cruel; that mankind has no sympathy and remorse and is filled with depravity and inhumanity, you may just understand.

But....unfortunately, until you do your homework, you will always be lost and confused of the unknown.

Deadgirl (2008)

Deadgirl
Directors: Marcel Sarmiento, Gadi Harel

Rating: One Thumb Up

Well, this is unexpected. I always read a dozen reviews before watching movies to see what I would be getting myself into. Especially when it comes to disturbing, gruesome, mind-troubling films such as "Deadgirl". I went into the movie prepared....and then I watched the movie.

Two highschool guys, Rickie and JT leave school and break into an abandoned asylum. While exploring they come to a room that's locked. And for pretty good reason. When they break the door open they notice a corpse of a seemingly young woman lying on a hospice table and chained down.

She looks dead. I wonder why she's chained. Well, this seemingly dead corpse is not so dead. But she's not alive either. What do you call that? Oh right...the undead.

What's more? The little bastards pursue her and contin her as their sex toy. How sick is that? This has become more than some fucked up teenagers obsessing over a corpse. This digs deep into the human psyche. What some people will do. This is some deep shit.

Check it out on Hulu Plus.

Peace.

Night And Fog (1955)

Night and Fog
Director: Alain Resnais

Rating: Two Thumbs Up

Well then...."who is responsible?" (Night and Fog).

This historical field trip into the death camps of the Nazi Germany will leave you startled and in tears. What went on during the time. How prisoners were treated. Starved. Dehydrated. Tortured. Killed. It's all inhumane and unorthodox.

One of the most disturbing documentaries, this short film will have you speechless. All kinds of questions will run through your mind. Why are people so cruel? Why would they do this to people? Why would they enslave children?

No one wants to take responsibility for these deaths. Only one question that needs to be answered: WHO THE HELL IS RESPONSIBLE?

You can check it out on Hulu Plus.

Peace.

Irriversible (2002)

Irriversible
Release Date: May 22, 2002
Crime, Drama, Thriller
Director: Gaspar Noé

What the hell did I just watch??? This movie is crap. People call it disturbing. Nothing disturbing about this movie. The only part that gets you is the scene where the pig beats her after the rape. Other than that part, this movie is crap.

Ok....Hold on....Let me back up here. I got a little ahead of myself thinking about how awful this movie was that I didn't take time to explain it.

Alex is on her way home from a party, when she gets brutally harassed and assaulted by a guy. Her boyfriend takes matters into his own hands to bring her attacker to justice.

Pretty decent stuff, right. Right. HOWEVER....The film is showed in reverse. Hence the title "Irriversible". I guess. Even this seem like a nice idea. Not something that has been done before. At least, not from the movies I've seen this far.

This film pissed me off from the very beginning. Not only is everything happening in reverse order, but significant scenes of the movie flash on and off. It's hard to make out exactly what's happening.

This also makes a disadvantage for the film because once you've seen the major parts, you don't need to see the rest. It's not necessary to see all the way to the very beginning because the beginning looks like it will be boring anyway.

I can't believe this film made it on the most disturbing films of all time's list. This was nothing but a "gay bar porn" (as one guy puts it) with a random rape scene in it.

You were almost there, Noé....and then you went in REVERSE. Good try, though.

Have fun with this one...IF YOU DARE. Check it out on Netflix.

Peace.

Eden Lake

Eden Lake
Release Date: September 12, 2008
Horror, Thriller
Rated R

Director: James Watkins

Rating: Four Thumbs Up

This is why you just don't go to a cabin in the woods, or the woods for vacation. I am officially ruling out vacationing in the woods. I will settle for the Mariott hotel, thank you very much.

Steve and Jenny head out to Eden Lake for a vacation. They come in contact with a group of rough kids, and their vacation turns into a nightmare.

These are some bad ass kids in this movie. You can tell they come from hard families. Brett is the "leader", and he is a psycho. The rest are his pets, so to speak. They do whatever he says, no matter how wrong they think it is. Quite the influence he has on them.

Yeah.....I think I will book a room at the Mariott on my next vacation.

This movie is very good. The story is good. The acting is good. It just lost one thumb because of the stupid decisions that were being made.

Check it out.

Peace.

Eraserhead (1977)

Eraserhead
Release Date: December 31, 1978
Horror, Fantasy
Rated: R
Director: David Lynch

Rating: 4 Thumbs out of 5

Um....I don't know what to say about this movie. It's weird as hell; that's one thing I can say. I don't even think weird successfully describes this film. This is way beyond weird. This pushes the boundaries of normal and sane. I believe one can go insane, just watching this film alone.

Before watching this film, I spent a whole hour reading reviews on it to see what I would be getting myself into. What made me really want to watch it, is because I have seen on several "most disturbing films of all times" blogs that it was listed as one of the most disturbing film of all time. Me being the insanely curious person that I am, and the avid horror movie fan that I am, of course I have to feed my curiosity.

Feeding my curiosity has gotten me in trouble numerous times. "Saló, Or the 120 Days of Sodom", "A Serbian Film", "Martyrs", "Cannibal Holocaust", "Men Behind the Sun", "Human Centipede II"...

I am both a fan and an enemy of "sick, twisted, deranged, and disturbing". I both love and hate these films at the same time. The end result.....my mind being "sacrificed" to what I saw. I will forever be a "sacrifice" to these movies.

What is "Eraserhead". Some people say its a "work of art". Some people say is pure and utter crap. I don't think anyone really know what "Eraserhead" is and what it's supposed to be.

What is certain in the movie are four things:
•Henry has a big head.
•Henry has an angry girlfriend.
•Henry has a mysteriously mutant baby.
•Henry has a pretty fucked up life. Pardon my French.
Anything beyond these four things that other people may have saw, have apparently lost me. Please let me know what I am missing in this list here.

I don't think "Eraserhead" is "a work of art". How can someone watch this film and seriously call it a work of art??? Are you high?

I don't think "Eraserhead" is crap. This film has a lot of potential. It just lacks substance.

"Eraserhead" appears to be a series of random visuals and images thrown together. With the occasional dialogue at peak moments. Weird visuals and images at that. Definitely nothing like I have ever seen before.

Weirdness and unfamiliarity is what makes this movie stand out. It's like seeing, or even living, perhaps someone's dreams. More like nightmares. What you're looking at is one long ass nightmare. An 89-minute long nightmare. Sure, you can simply turn the movie off and save your brain. This film may make some people want to gouge their eyeballs out out of sheer boredom. But, for most of us, we continue watching because we are waiting on an explanation.

"Eraserhead" gives no explanation for it's being. It doesn't explain anything that's being shown. How the hell did Henry and his girlfriend have a mutant baby in the first place? Are one of them half human/half mutant? Do one of them have a contagious disease that turned the baby mutant? What's with the lady with the deformed pancake face? What's her story? And why is she living in the radiator, for crying out loud?

David Lynch does this film very little justice. I suspect he was high off something when he made this film. I mean...what other explanation is there. I can try my hardest to reach weirdness in film, and I wouldn't even be able to touch where Lynch has gone with "Eraserhead".

Too many people over analyze this film. How can you analyze a film that doesn't even answer questions?

This movie is plain and simple. It's everything....but it's nothing at all.

If, after what I have said about this movie still intrigues you, then I recommend and encourage you to watch it. If you have the patience, that is. This film does very little for your time and patience, but the trip till the very end is well worth it.

Check it out on Hulu Plus.

Peace.

A Salutè to the Most Disturbing Films you Will Ever See

As I read all these blogs posted by bloggers about the most disturbing films you will ever see, I realize that they need to, perhaps, revise their lists a little.

I am an avid movie watcher, primarily horror movies. I think it's safe to now consider myself an experienced movie watcher, considering some of the movies that I have watched over a short period of time.

Most of these movie bloggers get their logic behind how much gore a movie has in it. Therefore, for a lot of these bloggers, their most disturbing movies lists contain...pretty much the same movies.

On the contrary, MOST DISTURBING doesn't have to have anything to do with gore. It may be an extreme factor in a lot of horror movies, however, I feel the gore method is just a means to gross people out when other methods doesn't work.

On the flip side, there are indeed other methods that have proven to be effective. Movies like "Hostel" sicken me because my worst fear is to be kidnapped, toetured and mutilated. I hate films that involve human trafficking because that is another fear of mine - to be kidnapped and trafficked into sex slavery.

As much as these kinds of movies sicken me, they are NOTHING compared to the shit I have seen. I consider my eyes to have been raped and my mind tortured.

As I read several most disturbing horror films lists from several different bloggers, you see some that have the 10 most disturbing films, the 25 most disturbing films, the 50 most disturbing films, the 100 most disturbing films. When it comes to DISTURBING, one really needs to have seen DISTURBING.

DISTURBING is not all blood, guts and gore. No, that's just what you call plain GROSS. DISTURBING are films that are literally hard to watch and get through. Whether it be gore, phenomenon, mental, it's the kind of shit that really makes you sit there glued to the TV and think.... "Damn...that was some fucked up shit." Pardon my French.

These are the kind of films that stick with you long after you watch them.  The kind of films that haunt your mind long after you watch them. After you watch these films, you can NEVER unwatch them. Literally. 10 years later, you will still be thinking of that film and the sights you saw. These are the films that are true WORKS OF ART. They imprint on you, if you will. You will always reference these films because they are just that important and relevant. These films hold RELEVANCE to the world of movies.

If bloggers would think about these things, I can almost guarantee their most disturbing films lists would condense tremendously. There would be no 50 most disturbing films or 100 more disturbing films....or any other insane number that comes after 100. I think some of these bloggers get DISTURBING mixed up with just plain and simple blood, guts and gore.

With this being said, the most disturbing films that I have seen total just a mere, simple 5 films. These films are truly disturbing.

5. Cannibal Holocaust

This is one film that is built mainly off of guts and gore. A lot of guts and gore. This is what makes this film so hard to watch. Human guts. Animal guts. Guts. Guts. Guts. I hope you have an appetite for guts. Because that is what you will see in this film. Guts. In regards to it's incredibly low rating on IMDb, "Cannibal Holocaust" became one of the most controversial films to date. That alone says something worth wild.

4. A Serbian Film
This foreign film evolves around snuff porn. That's pretty much all you need to know. For those of you who don't know what snuff porn is....snuff porn is a step above torture porn.

Let me break it down for you: you have your normal everyday porn. The hugging, kissing, foreplay...all the lovey dovey stuff. Then you have your weird fetish porn: the chains, handcuffs, whips. Maybe even some even weirder fetishes: urophilia, fecophilia, etc.

Then you have your torture porn: chains, handcuffs, whips, plus a little foul play: nipples being electrocuted and whatnot. Then you have snuff porn. Taking torture porn to a whole new level. Including violent behavior. Maybe even death.

This, my friend, is the premise for "A Serbian Film". This film has been banned in several countries. Need I say more?

3. Martyrs

This film is very offensive, especially to us women. This is what happens when you seek revenge on something that's inevitable. For future reference...if you ever experience a life or death situation (knock on wood), and you are lucky enough to make it out alive...NEVER revisit the past to seek revenge.

Seeking revenge can get you into a world of trouble - for the ones who are unsuccessful at this. If you are successful, that's great. If not...you may just find yourself back in the situation you just got out of. Maybe even worse.

So, do yourself a favor. When you do escape and make it out alive...run away.

"Run far away and NEVER return." ~The Lion King

2. Saló, Or The 120 Days of Sodom

Another insane foreign film. Directed by Pier Paolo Pasolini, who is considered to be a true visionary, "Saló, Or The 120 Days of Sodom" is another work of art to make the "most controversial" films of all list.

This film is very offensive. Very vulgar. Very cutthroat. Very unsympathetic and unapologetic. Pasolini delivers straight, direct punches in this film and holds nothing back.

1. Men Behind the Sun

And then there was Number 1. The most disturbing of them all. This film takes the game of hostage and torture to a whole new level. Unspeakable events happen in this film. Events that will never be forgotten. This is what I call true horror.

There you have it. 5 simple films that are worthy of the "most disturbing" films list. And I salutè all directors, producers, and actors for contributing these films and introducing them to the world of film. They may be negatively viewed and talked about from a lot of people....but they will be well respect by many.

Trudge lightly with these films guys. If you have the appetite and the understanding for true unrelenting art, then these films are for you and I highly recommend them.

Peacec.
