Ok....Hold on....Let me back up here. I got a little ahead of myself thinking about how awful this movie was that I didn't take time to explain it.
Alex is on her way home from a party, when she gets brutally harassed and assaulted by a guy. Her boyfriend takes matters into his own hands to bring her attacker to justice.
Pretty decent stuff, right. Right. HOWEVER....The film is showed in reverse. Hence the title "Irriversible". I guess. Even this seem like a nice idea. Not something that has been done before. At least, not from the movies I've seen this far.
This film pissed me off from the very beginning. Not only is everything happening in reverse order, but significant scenes of the movie flash on and off. It's hard to make out exactly what's happening.
This also makes a disadvantage for the film because once you've seen the major parts, you don't need to see the rest. It's not necessary to see all the way to the very beginning because the beginning looks like it will be boring anyway.
I can't believe this film made it on the most disturbing films of all time's list. This was nothing but a "gay bar porn" (as one guy puts it) with a random rape scene in it.
You were almost there, Noé....and then you went in REVERSE. Good try, though.
Have fun with this one...IF YOU DARE. Check it out on Netflix.
Peace.
