This film is truly a disturbing film. I've called some films disturbing before (Saló, A Serbian Film, Butcher Boys), but those films have nothing on this film in the disturbance it has. I found myself covering my eyes a few times while watching this film.

After the disappearance of a former film crew, a different film crew journey into the jungles of the Amazon to find out what happened with the other crew, and to research a suspected tribe of cannibals in the rain forest. Well, needless to say, they got what they were looking for....and much more. 

I found out about this movie reading Scene Magazine. It was listed as one of the top 30 scariest films of all time. In all due respect, this film is not scary at all. It's just mad insane. This film gets very unsettling and uneasy. It's not easy at all to watch this film, and is definitely not for the faint of heart. BUT....like every other screwed up movie I recommend, I recommend this movie as well.

This remake of Stephen King's classic film, Carrie, doesn't top the original, but it certainly gives a great attempt. We all know the story of Carrie, but for those of us who don't, here's a little 101...

Carrie is a normal young woman in a normal town with a normal life. Well....not all of that is true. She is a gifted child with telekinetic abilities. Her mother is deeply religious and crazy. Crazy is an understatement; the woman is psychotic. She keeps Carrie sheltered all the while criticizing her every move. If her obnoxious mother isn't enough, Carrie reaps more humiliation from her peers at school.  That must be some kind of life. You can't find peace at home or at school.

So now that you know the base story of Carrie, we get back to the current film. Chloë Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore stars as Carrie and Margaret White. Pretty decent picks for the main characters. They really take on their roles and get into character.

After some humiliation from her peers, Carrie is invited to senior prom by Sue Snell and her boyfriend, Billy Nolan. There, Carrie gets the ultimate humiliation of her life, and she pursues the ultimate revenge. 

This modern-day Carrie adaptation certainly doesn't linger long. There's not very much to the main scene; the main reason and being for the movie. In any case, this movie does an ok job at its adaptation, and it is a good watch.

Pumpkinhead is one of my favorite horror movies to watch. I mean...out of all things to face. You just look at that thing and go; "Aaaaaah! Pumpkinheaaaaaad! Nooooo!"

After the his son is accidentally killed by a biker, Ed Harley seeks the help of Haggis, who summons a demon called Pumpkinhead, to bring vengeance upon those who murdered his son, and bring them to justice.

This is one of my favorite horror movies, but let's talk about the technicality of the film. I am usually against movie remakes, but this film is screaming for a remake. The picture is dark and fuzzy. The sound is a little fuzzy. You can it's age. I'm just afraid that a remake will ruin the movie like a lot of remakes do.

I recommend this movie for all.

This is my favorite horror movie of all time. I never get tired of watching this movie. I've watched this movie so many times I know it in my sleep.

Beverly, Mike, Bill, Eddie, Ben, Richie, and Stanley all meet each other and form a group called The Losers Club. They become very good friends (almost inseparable) in their childhood home of Derry. Ah....but the is something wrong in Derry. Something very wrong.

An evil presence in the form of a clown; a sort of boogeyman, haunts them. Adults can't see it. The residents don't talk about it. No one talk about the weird things going on in Derry. They are left to deal with the boogeyman on their own.

Tired of being scared and helpless, the bunch come together and venture into the darkest place to face the monster themselves.

30 years later, the monster still lives. They are reunited based on the strength of a promise they made 30 years ago. They come together once again to finish the boogeyman once and for all.

I reckon I like this movie because of its mystery. The unknown. You see what it is and you know what it is from the outside. But this......thing has so many shape-shifting possibilities, you can't conjure up exactly what it is supposed to be at first. And, if we hadn't known Stephen King to be fascinated with aliens, we probably would never get that questioned answer from the movie alone. 

The "killings" or the "disappearances" in the movie are pretty much left up to the imagination. That's another plus for me. These horror movies nowadays show everything and leave nothing up to the imagination. In the beginning of the movie we see little George get pulled by It into the sewer, but we don't see what happens after that. Even though the movie suggests that he died, we still don't see WHEN he died or HOW he died.

So much of this movie keeps you guessing because so much of it is left up to the imagination, and that's why I love it so much. 

Stephen King does an awesome job on developing the story and the characters in the story the director and producers, along with the cast, does an awesome job in bringing the story to life. Tim Curry does an awesome job as Pennywise (It). His performance is amazing. 

I suppose I would say the only downfall to this movie is how lengthy it is. Of course, we all know Stephen King to make lengthy novels, stories, films, but some of this have to do with the occasional unnecessary "lingering". That extended moment or unnecessary "nothing".

All-in-all, It is a great film and will not disappoint. Check it out.

Butcher Boys (aka Boneboys) is a movie that will have you biting your nails as you watch it. This movie is dark and senile, and it has it's comical moments as well.

Sissy, Barbie, Mickey, and Kenny are out enjoying their night for a birthday celebration. These events take a wrong turn when they unknowingly tramp on the Butcher Boys' turf during a wild car chase, and they run over and kill a dog. They come to realize that the dog belonged to the Butcher Boys. They are now on the run for their lives.

I was afraid to watch this movie alone at first. Badass Digest says the movie is "nearly unwatchable". Coming from the guy who wrote the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, you can guess in what direction this movie heads.

This movie gets a little grotesque, but I wouldn't say it's the worse movie I've ever seen, or that's out in the market. This movie sits along with any other cannibal movie out there, but it also sets apart from the rest, as it brings something new to the arena. That alone deserves some credit.

The story is good, however, I wish the characters' stories were elaborated on a bit. Sissy, The Boys and their twisted family. Some insight or a brief flashback to the past on how they became what they are would have been a nice and necessary added feature. You don't really know who these people are in the movie personally. This movie is head-on in the action.

The direction is good. The directors did a good job in this film. The cast and the acting is good, especially that of Sissy. She stands a firm ground and holds a strong fight that keeps The Boys on their toes.

This movie can get a little unsettling but it is a good watch. I recommend it.

So let's take a moment away from the spirits and gouls and demons and monsters for a moment, shall we? This movie may not seem like horror to you. Oh, but on the contrary, it most definitely is. 

From the viewer's standpoint, we get a look into the "future". A future that happens to be pretty darn close, I may add. This movie was released in 2009. The film takes place in 2012. That's three years from the date it was released.

When I first watched it last year it made me think about the year 2012 and what would happen. I know this is only a movie, but I couldn't help myself from drifting away into dreamland.

Adrian Helmsley gets some shocking news from Dr. Tsurutani that there's some weird activity going on with the Earth's core and the Sun. They then come to realize that the world as they know it will soon come to an end. Together, with the President of the United States, they fight to save as many lives as they can before time runs out. 

This is why I consider this movie horror. It's fiction and it's make-believe, but it's something that can actually happen. Natural disasters are no joke.

I recommend all to watch this movie.

I'd hate to have to go back and "relive" this movie. I watched it in January of this year, and was sick to my stomach. The most horrifying thing about this film - even more horrifying than the events that take place - is that it's based on true events. 

This movie takes place in Saló, Italy. Four fascist libertines (the Duke, the Bishop, the Magistrate, and the President), along with the company of guards and 4 middle-aged women, summon 9 young men and women and hold them hostage in an isolated Villa. For 120 days, they are subjected to physical, emotional, and mental sexual torment and abuse.

There are three parts, or three "circles" to this film. Each of the middle-aged women takes turns in telling a story of an event that happened in their past. "The Circle of Shit". "The Circle of Manias". "The Circle of Blood". After each story is told, it is acted upon the prisoners.

I would say that I do not recommend anyone to watch this film, however, the fact of the matter is, this is a really deep and touching story. It shows some of the things that are going on in the world in which we live. This movie is also sick and twisted, and will haunt your mind forever. You will regret watching. Because once you watch it, you cannot unwatch it.

But don't let that stop you from watching one of the most controversial films of all time. I find it to be a journey into history, and a moral to the overall point that is being made. This is why I recommend all to see at least once. Despite the events that take place, watch the film and see it for what it truly is.

This movie is awfully dark, sick, twisted, senile......I can't begin to list all the words this movie is. But I would be unfair if I didn't recognize this movie for what it truly is. A work of art. 

I will admit to having being scared to watch this movie alone at first. When you read reviews about it, they make you think twice about even watching the movie. But one thing about my mind.....I have a very strange imagination and appetite for the unknown. If that makes sense.

I will tell you what A Serbian Film is NOT. It's not unicorns and rainbows, that's for sure. It's not ghosts and goulies and spirits haunting you. It's not supernatural manifestations. This movie is SHOCK VALUE AT ITS FINEST. It's a test to see how long you can last. No wonder it's been banned in several countries across the globe.

Milos is an aging porn star, but he's trying to retire from the business. He is offered a hard-to-turn-down proposition from Vukmir, a mysterious porn producer. Milos and his family is guaranteed financial security as long as he takes the deal. The only catch is that he cannot know anything about the film he is starring in. His only rules are to show up and play the role. 

As the film progresses, Milos is beginning to become uncomfortable at the events taking place and proceeds to asking more questions. Vukmir is strong in his position. This film will continue whether Milos wants it to or not. And Milos will soon discover that the film is not over until Vukmir says it's over.

Now Milos is fighting to save his life. 

As sick as this movie is, it is very well written. The plot is great. The directing is great. The acting is good. It makes for a great foreign film. 

I both recommend and not recommend this movie for all to see. This movie is a work of art, and I suggest all to watch it and take it for what it truly is. On the flip side, if your stomach is not made of stone and you are grossed out easily, this film is not for you. This film is truly not for the faint of heart. Once you watch this movie, you cannot unwatch it. It will stay in the back of your mind forever. The events that take place. The sights you see. The whole concept of the story will both engross and entice you at the same time.

Trudge lightly. Proceed with caution. Watch carefully.

I always refer to Stephen King as a master of horror. Because he is! His stories and tales are spooky, chilling, dark, and, in some cases, has some truth to it!

The town of Desperation is deserted. There are no residents or people, except for the passers by who are unlucky to travel there and come one-on-one with the sherriff. 

Sherriff Entragian is very off. He's mean. He's cold. He's evil. The people who become his prisoners will find out soon enough just how evil he really is. 

This movie creeps me out every time I watch it. Ron Perlman is awesome in this movie. His character is so mean, evil, sinister, and he plays his character quite well.

I recommend all to watch.

"It's an evil fucking room." (1408).

Mike Enslin is a mystery and supernatural writer. He visits places that are perceived to be haunted, which has all been false alarms. Until he makes a visit to the Dolphin Hotel.

Gerald Olin is the manager of the hotel. He tries his best to persuade Mike to stay in a different room. He describes it as; "an evil fucking room". Gerald is right. What goes on in room 1408 has nothing to do with ghosts and gouls. It's just plain evil.

Determined to stay in the room and test it's supernatural abilities, Mike decides to stay in the room, despite all the stories he's researched and heard.

I wouldn't recommend checking into this room. Because, once you check in.....you can't check out.

I recommend all to watch.

Professor Joyce Reardon is a paranormal psychologist, who has been fascinated with the history and story of Rose Red, a mansion that has been reported to have been the cause of numerous accidents, disappearances, and deaths. Despite the house being a "dead cell" for years, she gathers a team of people with special and psychic abilities, and performs an expedition to journey inside the house and awaken it from its sleep.

Her lover, Steve Rimbauer, is the great great grandson of the owners of the house, agrees to unlock the house for her expedition. Out of the team, Annie - a 15-year-old autistic girl - is the key to unlocking Rose Red. Together, Joyce, Steve, Annie, Sister, Nick, Cathy, Emery, and Pam pursue their advances to awaken the house.

They will soon discover the power that Rose Red has and will regret ever having woken it up.

Stephen King's story about this haunted house is truly spooky and touching. It is, in my opinion, one of the creepiest haunted house tales I've ever seen or read about. Stephen King definitely has a way of telling spooky stories.

I recommend all to watch.

"Where did everybody go? And why didn't we go with them?" ("The Langoliers").

Stephen King is one of my favorite horror writers. He is truly a master of horror and takes a different approach to his works. The Langoliers is, in my opinion, one of his greater works.

Flight 29 of American Pride is heading to Boston. That trip is delayed when 10 passengers awaken to discover that they are the only ones left on a flight that was full of passengers, and that those passengers have seemed to mysteriously disappeared.

The 10 passengers, along with the Captain of the flight work together to try and solve the mystery, and come to the realization that what's going on is TIME. Now it's up to them to race against time and fight their way back into their own time before their time runs out. Makes sense???

The Langoliers is the prime example of time not being on one's side. Questions start to ensue. What time are they in? Why have they traveled to that time? How do they get back into their own time? What happens when time runs out?

Despite the occasional dull moments, this movie will keep you guessing. Check it out on Netflix.

The Conjuring is a very deep movie and touching story. The Perron family; Roger, Carolyn, and their five daughters, is being haunted by a dark spiritual presence. When unexplainable things start to happen, Carolyn seeks the help of paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren.

When Ed and Lorraine digs deeper into the farmhouse's history, they discover the reason to the madness, and realize that this house needs more than just a routine check. It needs cleansing. Hence, this leads to Ed and Lorraine seeking additional help of a certified priest to drive the spirit out.

Next to Sinister, The Conjuring has to be one of the most terrifying possession movies I have seen to date. This movie is a nail biter. I recommend all to watch it.

"I'm gonna get you." (Curse of Chucky).

Curse of Chucky definitely lives up to its hype. He's back. He's meaner than ever. And he has unfinished business.

Chucky (as we all know as Charles Lee Ray) finds his way to Nica. Her niece, Alice, finds the doll and instantly takes a liking to him, and he becomes her best friend. When strange things start to happen, Nica suspects Chucky, who then pursues his bloody rampage. 

Everything about this movie is superb. The directing, the acting, the plot, the story. It all makes for a great film. The great thing about this movie is you get a glimpse back in time, and a deeper story on how Charles Lee Ray became Chucky, and the reason for his madness.

Let's take a stroll back in time, if you will.

Child's Play (1988)

So, this is where it all starts. We learn about Charles Lee Ray, a serial killer, who's soul was transferred into a Good Guy doll after being shot by Detective Norris. He finds his way to Andy and uses him to make his revenge. 

Child's Play 2 (1990)

Chucky is back in this sequel, and he has unfinished business with Andy, who is now with a new family, Joanne and Phil Simpson, and their foster daughter, Kyle. They take Andy in, despite his troubled past. Chucky finds his way to Andy with intent to finish what he started. 

Child's Play 3 (1991)

Andy is all grown up and enrolled in military school. Chucky makes his way to Andy, but is delayed when Tyler gets ahold of the package first. Chucky uses the boy to his advantage to pursue his conquest. 

Bride of Chucky (1998)

Chucky is brought back to life by Tiffany, who is a big fan and secret admirer of him. She brings him back with the intent on being in a relationship with him, but when he doesn't pursue her advances, she locks him up. Chucky kills Tiffany, and her soul is transferred into a doll. The two of them go on a quest to retrieve the amulet they need to become humans again, while wrecking havoc in the process.

Seed of Chucky (2004)

Chucky and Tiffany are back in this fifth sequel. They are brought back by Glen/Glenda, who, to their surprise, is their son/daughter. Chucky tries to steer him/her down a path of murder while Tiffany tries to steer him/her down a brighter path.

Curse of Chucky (2013)

And now we make to this new sixth installment in the series, where Chucky visits a new family. However, this family is not so new. Time to unveil these skeletons as Chucky exacts his revenge, his intent to destroy.

Curse of Chucky definitely delivers and does not disappoint. Well worth the time and money. Check it out.
